------------- Brown completes
full time karting career! -----------
Consistency should be Brown’s
middle name!
The 2004 race season saw Waterdown’s Tyler Brown continue to run
at the front of the pack consistently. In 32 starts he compiled
11 top 5’s including three 2nd’s, two 3rds, three 4th’s, and three
5ths. Brown was only out of the top 10 four times, two of which
were the result of crashes. Looking at the 13 year olds statistics
for his last two years, he finished in the top 5 an amazing 41%
of the time.
The end of this race season is also bitter sweet for the team.
This is Brown’s last year competing full time in karting as he
is stepping up to cars next year and is set to do battle in the
Ontario Pro Challenge series. The series travels to different
tracks throughout Ontario from May until September. When asked,
Brown had this to say. “It’s sort of sad to think that my full
time karting career is done. I have met so many great people and
drivers it will be tough not to see and compete against them every
week. But I know that to improve I have to move up and challenge
myself” Although the focus will turn to cars next year Brown will
still run a limited karting schedule in the ultra-competitive
Rotax Max class. “On off weekends for the car you’ll still find
us at a track somewhere. Karts are a great training tool and you
can always improve on your skills”. Team Manager Cathy Brown commented.
There won’t be much down time for the team as they are currently
selling off some of their karting equipment and getting ready
to take delivery of their brand new Pro Challenge Dodge Intrepid.
The team hopes to travel at least once to the sunny south during
the winter so Tyler can get the much needed seat time to get comfortable
in his new ride. To learn more about the Ontario Pro Challenge
