------------- Update from
the Mosport Raceway -----------
May 10th and 11th was the first round of
the Ontario Kartsport Championship Series and karts from Ontario
and Quebec converged at Mosport Raceway for the 3 day event.
Tyler would compete in the Ontario Junior division which sported
one of the largest fields for that class in a long time. Twenty
Eight Karts took to the track to qualify for the event. Crew chief
and Dad (one in the same) did not account for a strong head wind
on the front straight and pulled the wrong gear, which allowed
Tyler to only manage a 10th place qualifying effort.
During the first race a driver error going into the first turn
relegated Tyler all the way back to 19th. From there he settled
down and by the time the race was halted, at lap 9 due to an on
track accident, Tyler had charged
back to tenth where he would start the final race of the day.
In the final race Tyler settled into his race mode and aggressively
worked his way up to 6th by the end of the race.
All in all a good outing for the first of six rounds that are
scheduled in this series.

May 2003 Newsletter --------------------
The 2003 racing
season has begun and 4B Racing is off to a great
start. Tyler has 4 races under his belt, with 3 top ten finishes.
He is putting the skills learned at the Jim Hall Performance
Driving School to the test.
We have all settled into “race-mode”. With the support of Trevor
Wickens, Darrell has been incorporating a new data acquisition
program into his race management strategy.
While Darrell tracks Tyler’s races on the computer, Cathy (Racermom)
has picked up a flag and a microphone as a Grid Marshall for
Mosport Kart Club. Nathan, the youngest member of the 4B Racing
team, has started a small business selling racing lubricants,
Spray 9, hats, shirts, and used racing parts from the team.
