Round 3 of the Ontario Kart Sport Championship had us invade the waterfront in downtown Barrie. The event was quickly dubbed the Monaco of kart racing because the temporary street course was set up and run right on the waterfront. Before the event even started Tyler said that to do well at the event
a driver would have to be both aggressive and smart.

During the rounds of practice Tylers MBA was quick but unfortunatly, during qualifing, he would encounter a lot of slower drivers and his times would suffer. In the end he qualified 14th in the huge field of karts.

Debriefing after qualifing saw Dad and crew chief settle Tyler down and focus on the 2 upcoming races. He did just that. During the first race, Tyler aggressively picked his spots out- braking and drafting up to a 7th place finish.

During the second race again his braking skills and aggressive attacking of the two extremely tight turns on the couse would allow him to move up to fourth but on the last lap a kart he had previously passed would draft past on the last straight-a-way to put him back to finish 5th.

After racing was finished and the results were posted, Tylers 91T MBA had the 2nd fastest time in the final race (but second fastest by only 3 one hundreds of a second). When asked Tyler said, "we worked hard all weekend & my dad and
(crewchief) gave me a kart that I could drive anywhere on the track".

With another solid weekend in the books the team is looking forward to round 4 at Sutton and then 2 weeks later at Hamilton for round 5 on July 19th.

Round 2 of the Ontario Kartsport Championship Series held last weekend in Sutton -- Tyler continues to become a stronger force in his division.

Saturday started in the rain but that did not stop Tyler from snagging the pole for his division. His first ever in the regional series.

The first race would start with lots of quick action up front which saw Tyler relegated back to 4th. Soon after the kart directly in front would slide out and threw marbles in the tennis court turn. As the driver struggled and brought his kart back on the track Tyler was commited to passing him. Unfortunately for Tyler the other karts rear tire made contact with Tyler's front tire and it sent Tyler spinning off into the grass.

After that incident Tyler raced well to a 13th place finish in the first race and an 8th place finish in the second race.

So after round 2 of the chamionship Tyler is still in very good shape to be a serious contender as the year moves forward.

Also this past weekend 4B Racing and Tyler Brown took delivery of their new Paul Tracy ROTAX. So as soon as Tyler tests this new Kart for a bit you will see him in ROTAX Junior.
