------- Christmas comes early for Waterdown’s
Tyler Brown -------
WATERDOWN, ONTARIO –
Tyler Brown received an early Christmas surprise recently
when he was informed that his racing program was taking a
huge step forward. After a partial season in the Ontario Pro
Challenge series Tyler will make history again in 2006 when
he moves up to race in the Cintas Late Model division at Delaware
Speedway.
“I have to thank my Uncle & Crew Chief Glen Brown for
all his effort in putting this program together, as well as
everyone at Delaware Speedway, Mike McColl from McColl Racing
Enterprises and my family for their support and belief in
me”. Tyler said. The grade 9 student will take to the track
next spring piloting a McColl built 400 horsepower car. He
will be the youngest driver to ever compete in the headline
series at Delaware, and will also contend for “Rookie of the
Year” honours.
“This will be a big step for Tyler” his father stated, “but
he is ready”. “There will be a tremendous amount of competition
at this level and as a team, we will help him prepare. He
is on a workout routine now which will help combat the fatigue
and G-forces associated with much longer races. During March
break Tyler will attend a 4 day high performance driving school
in Florida and next spring we will spend whatever time is
needed testing the new car to get him comfortable”.
Delaware Speedway is located just outside of London Ontario
and is one of only two tracks in Canada that is sanctioned
by NASCAR and will offer Brown the exposure needed to help
him further his career. The Cintas Late Model division will
share the stage at least twice next year with the CASCAR Super
Series, Canada’s premier stock car series and Brown’s next
step up the ladder.
